Here we go again

After a bumpy ride and increasing headwinds we are back at Brighton Marina.  Back on our old spit, next to the beautiful pub. The best place to wait for a more favorable wind.  What a coincidence? Well, sometimes you’ve to help a bit out on that. I called up at the marina about 50min before…

Bye bye Brighton.

Brighton is a nice spot but we have a mission to fulfill. The boat needs to be in Plymouth on Sunday and we want to see as much cool stuff in the meantime.  Tide? Ok, we could leave around 1600 and the trip would bring us to Isle of Wright around midnight.  But it turned…

Brighton downtown

Another day in the marina?!? No way. It’s raining, keeps on, and on and on.  We jump on Bus no 7, we pass by the beautiful white houses that are so typical for English sea towns. Brighton pier isn’t far. And it’s still raining. While some super brave surfers are playing in the waves we…

A stormy night.

Jep. That was the right decision. The storm is howling out there. We are so lucky to be looked in the inner habor. Not only are we next to a great pub, we also lay much calmer than in the sports marina. Rumors are that it could be a challenge to visit the bathrooms. I…

Premier marina day tour

What to do when the warmfront hits you? Wind forcast for the later afternoon is southwesterly 6-7 in gusts up to 9. So, we wouldn’t make it in time before the weather would hit us. In ya face.  So we stay insight. Catching the few sunrays and making the best of it.  While we are…

Brighton premier marina

What nice welcome! We’ve called Brighton marina to notify our arrival. There is a notes to marinas stating that entering the habor 2h each side of low tide isn’t possible. Well, we state,  we are coming 1300. Brighton marina agrees, we should give a notice briefly before arrival. We have ETA of 15min. We thought,…

France to England

We leave Boulonge sur mer in the afternoon hours.  Back to Calais and then crossing over to Dover. This is how it looks like. A group of four comes along, followed by a set I 11. Do we better make it now. The crossing takes us 1.5h full concentration, one ship in focus. Step by…

Boulonge sur mer

The france largest harbour for the fishing industry.  And a marina that falls partly dry. A lock regulates the water lever to a certain degree. But can’t control the smell. We stay over night, have a little walk in this beautiful town and meet for dinner back at the boat.

Netherlands to France

Next stop? Let’s see. Calais would be great but we just have a small time slot that we can use to slip by before the current is too strong against us.  Again, we have headwinds so there isn’t much goining with sailing. Again.  Life on board is sweet. Thomas searches for the good stuff and…

New fiends in Den haag

Some friends accompanie him alone the route, they are 4 crew at the moment. You might check out his blog aswell…
